About

Department 24 is a capstone showcase for Columbia College Chicago’s graduating graphic designers. The exhibition was held in the Hokin Gallery from May 10 to 24, 2024. Student design work was featured in the Hokin Gallery space, the online exhibition, and a physical publication during the end-of-year festivities at the Manifest Urban Arts Festival.

Each student was allocated a 3x5’ gridded space within the Hokin Gallery, giving them the freedom to arrange and display their creative projects
in any way they preferred. Additionally, the gallery included a designated publication table where students had the option to exhibit their works.

We experimented with printing techniques by printing our posters in the photography darkroom using the cyanotype process. This gave us our rich, deep blue color and 12 unique poster variations.
